WHAT IS FUNKY MAP
Funky Map is an interactive global soundscape platform. It allows users around the world to explore location-based field recordings, listen to authentic regional sounds, and drop their own audio signals at real-world coordinates.
DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT TO USE THE MAP
You can browse the map and listen to any audio spot as a guest without creating an account. However, if you want to plant your own audio files, vote on spots, manage your uploaded content, or leave reports, you must log in using your existing Google or Twitch account.
HOW DO I PLANT MY OWN AUDIO
To plant a sound, log into your account and open the Map page. Click or tap on the exact geographic location where the audio belongs. Fill in a brief description, upload your audio file, accept the copyright terms, and click the Plant Audio button to publish your spot to the global map.
WHAT ARE THE FILE UPLOAD REQUIREMENTS
Your audio file must be in a standard audio format and strictly under 20 Megabytes in size. Additionally, you must hold the legal rights or ownership to any recording or music you upload to the platform.
WHY DO SOME CIRCLES ON THE MAP LOOK LARGER THAN OTHERS
Circle sizes on the map are dynamic and controlled by community votes. When logged-in users upvote a sound spot, its visual circle expands on the map. This unique feature helps the most authentic and popular sounds stand out to other explorers.
HOW DO I DELETE A SOUND I PLANTED
You can manage all your content directly from your Profile page. Log into your account, navigate to Profile, locate the audio spot you wish to remove in your list, and click the delete option. The spot will be erased immediately from the live map.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I FIND OFFENSIVE CONTENT OR SPAM
We take community safety and copyright compliance seriously. If you encounter hate speech, copyright violations, or spam, click on the report option attached to the audio spot or blog post. Select a reason and submit your report so our moderation team can review and remove the material.
HOW CAN I DELETE MY ACCOUNT AND PERSONAL DATA
You have full control over your data. In your Profile settings page, click on the account deletion option. Confirming this action will permanently delete your account profile, stored preferences, and personal information from our system.
