Welcome to FunkyMap. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Please also read our Terms of Service and our community Guidelines.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you log in using Google or Twitch, we collect basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile picture. When you use the map, we collect the geographic coordinates of the spots you share. We also store the audio files, photos, text, and emojis you upload. We collect your IP address and country code to enforce region blocking and protect our servers from abuse.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your data to display your shared content on the global map, manage your user profile, and track your votes and reports. Your email address is used to verify your account and contact you regarding support issues. We use your IP address and activity data strictly to prevent spam and enforce our daily rate limits.
THIRD PARTY SERVICES
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We use secure third party providers to operate FunkyMap. Your media files are stored securely using Cloudflare R2 storage. Authentication is handled safely by Google and Twitch. These providers have their own privacy policies. We may also share information with law enforcement if strictly required by law.
COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
FunkyMap uses necessary cookies to keep you logged into your account and to remember your cookie consent preferences. We do not use intrusive tracking cookies for targeted advertising. You can clear these cookies at any time through your browser settings.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
You have the right to delete your account at any time directly from your profile settings. Deleting your account will remove your personal identification from public view. Any media or map spots you uploaded may be removed or anonymized to protect the integrity of the map. You can also report content for removal if it violates our policies.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
